KSDE Commissioner-Randy Watson
The college of education made it possible for educators and future educators to hear from the Kansas Commissioner Dr. Randy Watson. Dr. Watson was from Coffeyville Ks and eventually made his way to the Little Apple. Where Dr. Watson didn't just receive an undergraduate degree but also received his masters and PHD from Kansas State University Dr. Watson began his career in McPherson where he coached and taught for a couple years. Dr. Watson, is a very passionate individual that believes that Kansas Can do anything. He believes in allowing learning to be put back into students hands. He also believe it is not how hard you work but if you are doing it correctly. Dr. Watson, allows students and teachers to have the ability to explore education and bridge the gap between content and knowledge. Dr. Watson wants to have a more hands on approach to learning that will make for a more effective student and teacher outcomes. With that being said, after walking away from Dr. Watson talk I realized that EDUCATION is the place for me and will allow me to be the voice for the voiceless just like Dr. Watson has been for educators and students in Topeka as Kansas Commissioners.
